Top There is actually one new award for content for non-traditional delivery platforms in EACH of the areas of recognition: Daytime, Sports, New & Documentaries, Business & Financial Reporting, Community & Public Affairs. Broadband and Internet producers should submit their entries during the Call for Entry periods of the respective areas of recognition, which are announced on our website, http://www.emmyonline.org 2: What qualifies as content for non-traditional delivery platforms? Top Eligible entries are original material made-for-broadband or made-for-mobile. Platforms include video blogs, website programs including journalistic reporting, event coverage or event analysis, mobisodes (short episodics created for mobile devices), video-on-demand and other video delivered over an IP network or platform such as wireless, broadband or VOD. 3: Is VOD distributed on cable eligible? Top No. Cable VOD material would be eligible for all other categories in the areas of recognition, just like PPV programming is. However if the VOD was first distributed over an IP network or other non-traditional delivery platform it would be eligible. 4: Can I enter a "body of work" or several unrelated features?Top No. The Academy does not accept entries on "a body of work." For unrelated features, you would have to enter each feature separately in the appropriate category. 5: Is a program that is distributed both on the Internet and on broadcast eligible? Top Only programs that had their first showing on non-traditional delivery platforms are acceptable for entry. As long as it was first seen on the Internet, it is eligible. 6: I produced an entertainment program for the Internet, where can I enter it? Top The Daytime Emmy Awards is our general entertainment category. 7: What can be entered in the Daytime Emmy Awards? Does it have to been distributed in the Daytime?Top Any general entertainment program can be entered in the Daytime Emmy Awards. Since the digital world is not guided by traditional definitions, like dayparts, this is our way of recognizing entertainment video content that can be seen anywhere, anytime. 8: Can I enter an Internet program that utilizes footage from a broadcast program? Top All entries must be original programming, not repurposed. It is acceptable if some of the footage has been previously shown on broadcast, but the program as a whole must be original and created for a non-traditional delivery platform. 9: As a foreign producer, am I eligible? Top Yes. However, your entry must have been created specifically for the U.S. market. 10: My program is longer than 20 minutes, what should i do? Top Entries can be no longer than 20 minutes. Therefore, you should submit an excerpt of your program, no longer than 20 minutes. |
